X-Rays
One of the most important elements of chiropractic care is diagnostics. Chiropractic radiology is a tool utilized in care as a diagnostic practice to rule out pathology (such as possible tumor or fracture) and/or an additional aid to determine where to adjust the spine. Chiropractors rely on a variety of diagnostic techniques in order to fully understand what is occurring in the patient’s musculoskeletal system, and how a given treatment intervention could bring about positive results in each patient.
Non-surgical Spinal Decompression
Non-surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy is a non-surgical procedure to help reduce or eliminate low back and leg pain. An effective Cervical treatment for neck pain, arm pain, and headaches is also available. Decompression Therapy is a non-surgical procedure that effectively treats disabling low back, neck, radiating leg & arm pain, and headaches. Decompression Therapy effectively relieves the pain associated with disc herniation, degenerative discs, posterior facet, and other spinal related syndromes, by reducing the pressure on spinal discs and facet joints through unloading created by distraction and positioning. Decompression Therapy effectively enhances the healing process and often renders quick, effective and amazing pain relief that enables most patients to return to a more active lifestyle. Research to develop this procedure was conducted by prominent physicians, engineers and technicians at major teaching hospitals. Decompression Therapy is a highly successful treatment for patients suffering from bulging, herniated, degenerative, or ruptured discs as well as sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and many failed back surgery cases. This treatment helps patients avoid the risk of anesthesia, surgical complications, and the potential of failed back surgery.
Decompression Therapy relieves pain, reduces inflammation of the spine, and restores spinal motion all while treating the underlying cause. Spinal Decompression Therapy creates negative pressures inside the herniated, bulging disc letting it retract naturally, thus relieving disc pressure on spinal nerves which usually relieves the pain. Reducing pressure in the disc also restores the natural transfer of surrounding fluids, nutrients, and oxygen into the disc, a process essential for disc health. Tears in the disc’s wall can now repair themselves while nutrients introduced back into the disc’s nucleus can reverse the disc’s degeneration and its collapse, and restore disc height which relieves pressure on inflamed spinal joints.
How many treatments are necessary?
The majority of our patients find treatments to be a comfortable and relaxing experience, many actually even fall asleep during treatments. Research and clinical experience have shown the best results to occur with 20- 30 decompression therapy treatments. These treatments are completed at a typical frequency of 3 times per week. Several factors will determine the treatment protocol that will be specifically designed for you. No two spines are the same. Several other treatment modalities may be employed in order to reduce inflammation, improve range of motion, decrease pain, accelerate healing potential, improve balance, and strengthen supporting structures such as Muscle Therapy, Strength and Restoration Therapy, Moist Heat, Stretching and Stability Exercises in addition to specific chiropractic adjustments.

Spinal Screenings
Sometimes all that stands between your daily pain and a happier, healthier you, is a chiropractic adjustment. Your body naturally wants to be in alignment, and our daily activities can throw what is naturally aligned out of balance. Also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation, chiropractic adjustment refers to the manipulation of the vertebrae that have abnormal movements and are not functioning properly. Here at Midlands Chiropractic, we can help you achieve balance and proper alignment, giving you relief and improving your health.
Our goal in treating your joint and spinal issues is to reduce subluxation, increase range of motion, reduce nerve irritability, and improve mobility. Our highly skilled chiropractor will work with you to relieve your pain and get you back to living a pain free and healthy lifestyle.
